When I headed out today, it was sprinkling.  Then it POURED.  I was planning on quitting after 1.5 it was so horrible, but I kept playing mind tricks (just one more lap, just .5 more) to keep me going.  This was miserable miserable rain - windy and pouring sideways into your face.  My entire clothes were soaked and my shoes were sloshing.  Plus I stayed late at work and was starving so I'd just eaten and my stomach didn't feel that good.  All around, not the best run.  But it let up around mile 4, which was nice, except my shoes still felt like they weighed about 10 pounds.  Even Cooper kept looking at me like, "Really Mom?"  I really wanted to see an 8 on that last mile, but it was amazing how it felt like sprinting to get that 8:40.  Those 3 weeks really lost me some fitness.
