noon - Our team traveled up to Sugarhouse park to run at the state course before we raced at Herriman. We did 40 minutes with a little fartlek workout to get the legs moving a bit. 5.4 miles.
pm - Good, fun race today. My main goals were to be around the top AF guys and get a shirt. I didn't really have time goal because I couldn't base anything off last year (insane mud). I'm not sure on the distance but i think last year was 5k. Us guys warmed up over to a neighbor with construction to use the johns. Which was nice cuz we found like 5 which were all pretty clean. I got a great start in the race, top 10 or so. There was plenty of room to move and I never got slowed down by anyone. I worked pretty hard the first mile to keep a good position. The second mile I passed like 3 or 4 guys and twisted my ankle hardcore, but it felt fine. The giant hill called the mutha cussa was much bigger and harder than I remember but it went by quick. the last 3/4 mile, I just grinded through and kept my 10th place spot. I was all alone with guys like 10 seconds away in front and behind. I finished in 17:07 and our team got 2nd place so that was awesome. our girls also got 2nd. my ankle was actually rolled hardcore and it got very sore.
