Am - Slept in cause no school today.  Went out for an easy 3.8 with Alex at 8:30.

Pm -  Easy 3.8 into Green Springs almost to my church.  Felt tired man, trying to get sponsors for the team is wearing me out.  Did yoga after the run.

Am -  Easy run, I felt pretty decent during 3.8 miles.

Pm -  Another 30 minutes easy cheese run through THE ALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH.  Then 4x200m on the track.  It was funny to watch the girls do the 200's as master blasters; they looked like they were running hard man.  4.9 miles.

Am -  Did 2 miles.  I strained some tendon in my ankle and it was hurting so I had an ice sesh with Bryan in the locker room.

Pm -  5.8.  Did a Kosmin test today, that was pretty good.  Warmed up 2 miles then watched the girls go.  I tried out my new Saucony endorphin ld4 for this.  I did pretty good, I got 1574 meters which I put it in some online calculators and that's 4:23 1600m.  I'm happy with that effort but surely not satisfied.  I'm itching to get racing after the Kosmin.  I talked with Coach Robison from BYU today and he said I gotta run 1:52 and 4:10 to get a scholarship, so I guess those are my goals for the season.

Am -  10.2 Mustang Pass from my house.  Went at almost 9 with my Dad, Alex, and Sally.  We headed up through the desert, past the golf course to Mustang Pass and did the loop, then ran down desert main street and back home.  It was dope, perfect weather in the 60's and ended up 7:56 avg.  Up on the single track on Mustang Pass was super pretty; lots of green, and billions of tiny purple flowers which created a lucious haze of purple on the ground.  The trail is also in good shape which just makes me so happy.

Am -  Met at the track at 8 for practice, and our workout was 60/60 intervals.  Warmed up 10 minutes then got into it.  It started out pretty good and easy, but around reps 9-11 (of 15) it got really tough and I about lost it.  I was able to focus hard and gut out the last 4 no problem.  Good workout and a nice mental challenge and victory.  Cooled down 10 minutes to 6.7 miles and then lifted weights.

Good start to spring break, now a sick backpacking trip in Havasupai!

Pm -  4 miles behind my house before leaving to Kingman.  I love the desert in the spring.

Am -  Had an awesome trip in Havsupai the last 3 days.  Got a total of about 31 miles of hiking, 20 with a 40 pound pack.  Woke up today and was gonna go run what I could, but I ended up feeling pretty good and ran a nice sand hill workout. 6.4 total.

Pm -  4 miles to Green Springs Park before watching my bud Jake get called on a mission  to McAllen, Texas.

And I opened my mission call last night and I'll be serving in El Salvador so yeah, I'm pretty pumped about that.

Am -  Me, Alex, and my dad drove over to Virgin and ran the Jem Trail.  Never done it before, and it was beast.  We did an out and back, and on the way out it was all slightly uphill.  So on the way back, me and Alex got a pretty good pace going, dropping the last 3 miles under 7:00 pace.  Legs were a bit tired from ballin' so hard last night.

Am -  Easy 30 minutes, 3.8 miles.  New lights in the parking lot which make it way bright and weird.  Also new bright lights in the locker room which make the atmosphere way suckier.  Unfortunate.

Pm -  Nice long run in the afternoon, 10.8 miles into Washington Fields to Teasure Valley Park.  Haven't done that one for a while, since cross.  It was nice, the temps felt nice to me, but at times there was some strong winds which are no fun.  Good seshun of lifting after.  First meet tomorrow Panther Relays!

Am -  Easy run, 3.8 miles.

Pm -  First meet of the season today Panther Relays.  Felt super tired legs warming up and stuff from yesterday's long run.  Did a 1200m in the distance medley at 2 miles pace so I split a 3:35.  Then a little later the 4x800m, ran a 2:10 maybe it was slow.  Then a more bit later the 4x400m, we ran me, Paul, and Skylar, our team from last year except Colton. Andrew joined us and ran a 58, I ran a 54.  Our 4x400m team could actually do work this year if we can find a good replace my for Colton.  I guess we'll have to choose out of the 10 sprinters we have.

Am -  Easy run, 3.8 miles.  Almost fell asleep during it.

Pm -  Tempo stuff this afternoon.  A lot of people were feeling super tired from the last two days, but I felt pretty decent.  So coach had us do 10 mins of tempo, the 5 minutes normal running, then 10 more but like 10 seconds faster than pace.  After 10 minutes I added 2 more laps at 5:20 pace cuz it was just a pretty cheese tempo.  Good day, about 8 miles in the afternoon.

Am -  easy run from my house up to Green Springs park.  3.8 miles

Pm -  Dope Loop.  It was very nice today, we discovered and founded the Squaredesac.  7.6 miles with some great conversation.  I'm feeling pretty good for a killer 2 Mile on saturday.

Am -  Easy 3.8 in the morning.  Felt nice.  It wasn't too cold, which was nice but that means it's getting hot now.

Pm -  Went over to Hurricane with the 3200m crew and jason and watched our crew run the 1600m.  A Timp dude ran a beast 4:17 then skylar led our guys with 4:38 maybe? After that we ran our pre race 30 minutes with 200's.  Got 4.6 miles.

Am -  Got to the track and waited for a while tI'll about 9:30.  We watched our girls race, then warmed up 3 miles.  Did some strides and wow my new spikes feel so good.  

Started the race and Will from Timp went out quick into the lead, on his way to 9:10!  I ran with Joe from Timp and Eric for the first mile, then Joe pulled away and Eric fell back.  Then I was running with the younger Benson and Mckay.  First mile was 4:51.  My 6 & 7 laps sucked, I could been under 9:40 if I'd of done good stuff right here.  Got going the last lap and a half cause Carson almost got me.  With 250 to go I started kicking hard, I was in 5th and wanted the 3rd place medal so bad.  Passed two guys into 3rd, then ran out of gas and got passed back.  9:49, I state qualified.  Not a great race but I don't care, I hate the 2 Mile and luckily I probably won't have to run it again.  

Went and cooled down and did 4x1 minute hills for 3 more miles.

Am -  Easy run in the morn, 3.8 miles.  Felt super achy waking up it was rough.

Pm -  60/60 interval workout.  7.1 miles total.  Warmed up 10 minutes.  Today was the first time we split up the crew this season.  More of the 3200 meter guys did 1000's, and our 800m crew did the 60/60.  It was just me, Paul, and Skylar.  15 reps, the first 5 were hard, next five the same, then the last 5 I actually felt really good and busted out the last 2 really fast.  This workout it good it gives me a lot of confidence in my fitness.  Cooled down 10 minutes, lifted weights.

Am - easy 3.8, really windy and not very fun.

Pm -  Easy 4 miles with the top guys not racing at Snow Canyon JV and with drug lord Jorge Hoffman.  Another windy run, not quite as bad as the morning.  Everyone is racing off for the final 4x 800m spot at PV Invite, it will be cool to see who it is.

Am -  3.9 easy.  It was way colder cause all the wind blew the warmness away.

Pm -  Tempo session this afternoon.  Warmed up 2 miles, then got into it.  It was our varsity crew that didn't race yesterday; we did 10 minutes on pace at 5:52.  That was very cheese, except my left hamstring/buttock felt way jacked up.  Jogged for 5 minutes, then 10 mins at 5:40 pace.  Also cheese but it was good.  After that two all out 300's, ran :40 and :42.  Cooled down about 2 more miles for 8.2 total.  

Some weight lifting after.  Gotta stretch out my left hammy, that could go bad.

Am -  Up in Logan to visit Utah State.  Preston and Jake came with and this morning we did 8 400m hills up Old Main Hill.  I forgot my watch so we just ran on feel.  We guessed we warmed up about 1.5 miles on a cool trail by a canal.  The hills were pretty rough, my hamstring was feeling pretty bad.  Im pretty sure I've strained it, may have to take a few days off.  but it was a good workout, and finished with a mile of cool down.

Am -   Today the team was doing hills and I went along with them and just did easy miles. Hamstring felt a little iffy, but it is feeling fairly better and tomorrow I'll give the tempo a go.  I hate sitting out a good hill seshun but I know my body by now and when to push it, those hills would make it worse.

Pm -  Took the morning off again to help my hamstring get better.  And it has helped, I'm feeling pretty good and ready to race on Friday.  Did tempo today.  Warmed up 2 miles, then 10 minutes at 5:50 pace, 5 mins jogging, then 10 more at 5:35 pace.  Good run, it was nice and not to stressing on my leg.  I abstained from all out 300's though, gotta a bit careful.  Cooldown to 8.25
