Personal:
The expectation of peace and safety on public land outweighs dog owners' rights. You don't have to have a dog, but you do have the right to free travel. The bigger responsibility falls on the dog owner.
Afterwork run with Tony... aughh he put me in place today! I don't know if it was the Buffalo catching up with me, or the del taco for lunch, or the Hills and Head Wind we battled for most of the run... Good one to have in the books.

The only tips I have for the fifty, having never run a fifty, is run at least two trail like long runs of at least 20 to 24 miles, walk the uphills and eat and drink (water and electrolyte drinks) at every aid station. Wear a water bottle holder around your waist that also have zippered slots for gu or other snacks. I got a nice one at Big 5 sports for 15 dollars, it carried one 20 ounce water bottle with a push top and 8 gus if needed. Happy training.
