Personal:

Started running in November 2007 to get fit. Now I'm back almost to square one after back surgery. I did it once and I'll do it again.

"In truth, runners don't race other runners. They race against themselves: to conquer their wills, to transcend their weaknesses, to beat back their nightmares. And while a runner can't actually beat himself, he can beat his time. Even years into running, he can get better."  Running for His Life by Michael Hall.

9PM: 2nd easy post-marathon recovery run. Feel much better. No soreness in the quads or calves anymore. Right foot is still sore but a couple of days of icing it and it is coming around too.  Off of work all week and I've been getting some long naps in the past 3 days.  Midday naps rule!

Are you running the Main Street Mile next Friday?

From Neil on Sat, Jun 18, 2011 at 00:33:45 from 97.121.46.204

I might be down w/ that. What time is it and where do you sign up?

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I've been dealing with the agony of a family reunion this weekend. The race is Friday evening downtown. I'm old, so my wave is at 6:30ish. You kids don't start until 8pm. I haven't signed up yet because I'm scheduled to fly in Friday night, but I'm pretty sure I can get out of here early. If so, I'll head downtown and sign up on the day of the race. Here's the website http://www.mainstreetmile.com/

Hmmm. That's probably not gonna work then. Wife has some plans for Friday evening. May run the Barn Sour Saturday morning though. That's on your side of the freeway (Settler's Park). Lemme know if you're interested.

I am interested in running the barn sour. Let's plan on it.

Cool. Starts @ 830am. I can pick you up on the way if you need a ride.

I do need a ride. My wife is in Utah with the car this week. I was thinking I would have to run to the race. Thanks

K. No problem. I'll run by your house about 7:50ish Saturday morning.
