Personal:

Started running in November 2007 to get fit. Now I'm back almost to square one after back surgery. I did it once and I'll do it again.

615AM: Easy run. Perfect weather. Just cool enough to be great for running and not so cool that I had to go w/ gloves and/or long sleeve.  PF still flaring up on my right heel. I'll stretch it good this morning and hope it feels better by lunch because I'm planning another session of short hill sprints. 

Got my confirmation e-mail that I made it into Saint George Marathon on Oct. 6th. This puts a little more pressure on me to make UVM count because I doubt that I'll be running another marathon before the September Boston registration deadline.

Congrats on getting in to st george. I wonder if Boston will still fill up right away with the faster standards. Last year, didn't eveyone get in except (the old) BQ minus 1 or so? Still, yeah, better get the qual at UVM. This seems like it's been a great training cycle for you so far, I think you're on track.

@Joe: yeah, I think thats right. All the speculation that I've read online is that virtually everyone who qualifies under the new standard is likely to get in & anyone who runs BQ -2 or -3 is a virtual lock. Basically, they did the math and came up with the new standard in order to ensure that eligible qualifiers could actually make it into the race. Couple that with the fact that only a fraction of the 2012 Boston finishers actually re-qualified for 2013 (2k v. 10k in an avg year).

As long as I stay healthy (knock on wood) I feel really good about my fitness as compared to last year. I guess we'll find out real soon. Only a little over 3 weeks!
