Ventured out for a complete 4 miles today!  Hip got tired after 3.5 miles, but not really painful.  Also did an hour on the elliptical afterwards.

Good luck with your recovery!

When I had hip tightness it was from hamstrings and I found a routine called 'retlouping' to be very useful. Don't know if applicable to you but it is not strenuous so might be worth a shot (run it by your PT first maybe?) anyway just go on youtube and search 'retlouping', hope it is of some use

Sweet! Slow and steady.... BTW, had a good converstaion about you on Saturday as Allie and I went on a run. She wishes she was related to you like I am. That is cool you coached her. Wow.

Hi Nan! Glad I stumbled onto your blog. I am considering the same type of surgery as you, but still pretty unsure if I am going to go for it. Did you have any type of impingement or just the labral tear? Good luck with the recovery!

Hooray for 4 miles!

Lulu-I had a minor impingement on my femur and also on my hip that the Dr. shaved off. Read the whole story here: http://www.nankennard.com/2011/08/hip-surgery/
