Ran a very easy, very slow 2.4 miles around the neighborhood to evaluate where I am with recovery.  Decided I'll be sticking to the pool and elliptical again this week. After my run I went to Rally Sport and did some pool running with my friends.

Hey, I know someone who has an entry to the Provo city marathon this Saturday who does not want it if anyone is interested, PM me.

hang in there Nan, you will be back in action in no time. on another note- Do you have a good recommendation for a nice restaurant in Boulder where I can take Karen for our anniversary? something not too noisy, and not outrageously expensive. we tried the mediterranean last year and that was nice, but a bit noisy for my CI. if you have any moderately priced restaurants you recommend let me know. sorry we will miss you guys on this trip.

Try Hooters Scott. There are 13 restaurants in the greater Boulder area.

At least you have a pool to run in and friends to run with in the pool. That can keep you going while you recover.

I got my Running Times magazine yesterday and loved the article! What a great testament to your hard work and dedication to family, faith, and running. All the best in your recovery and your future races. It's fun to watch what you're doing and the way that you're going about it.

Hooters? 'Cmon Burt.

If you like Indian Food, there is a great Indian Restaurant by my house that is pretty quiet. Its called Tandoori Grill 619 South Broadway Street. Its DELISH.

Carolyn-Yes, the friends to meet at the pool are SAVING my sanity.

Russ-Oh cool, its out already? Guess I'll go check my mailbox. Thanks!

Scott-I still have your t-shirt from the Thanksgiving Day race here in my desk drawer. Maybe I'll stop by the Striders workout this Saturday and see if I can hand it off to David since we'll miss you on Memorial Day. If not I can also bring it when we come for the Logan Peak 50K in June.

That was my Michael Scott impersonation.

Oh of course. I didn't catch on since I haven't been watching the Office lately. I did however catch the episode when he moved to Boulder. I still haven't seen him around. Keeping an eye out though.

Funny, when I watched that Office episode, I thought "Hey, that's where Nan lives....and Mork and Mindy"

Got my new Running Times today. Great article that I will save for you to autograph if I ever meet you.

Congratulations!

nan- thanks for the restaurant tip, I may give it a try! The t-shirt- oh yeah, the race I wimped out on because of the weather.... well, if you see David give it to him, thanks! or just donate it to charity or something :-) we will be out of town end of June when the Logan trail run is, bummer, would have been fun to see you guys and cheer Aaron on.

Nice article in Running Times!

I just read the article about you in the Deseret News and I was very impressed. I'm sorry you have an injury. I feel the same about being a mother and racing on Sunday as you do, but I only run to keep in shape and because I enjoy running. The only reason I win any awards is because I am getting old and there are not many runners in my age group.

From DLTheo on Mon, May 09, 2011 at 20:30:38 from 67.183.227.41

I missed about 6 months of training last year due to injury. It amounted to 1 month of pretending I could still run, then 3 months of no activity at all, then about 2 months of slowly building up - first 1 mile a couple times a week, then 2 miles, and so on. 6 months! And yet, after another 6 months where I was able to train, I ran a PR in the marathon by 10 minutes. I think you will be surprised. It is tough getting started, but once you are rolling along, the fitness comes back very quickly.
