So I decided to run a 5k time trial this morning reasoning that with the day off yesterday my legs might have a little extra pop. Called up Kramer Morton last night and recruited him to pace me.
It was a failure. Reinforced some basic principles in my mind like an occasional track workout of 400s or 800s is a good thing if you want to run a fast 5k. Leisurely trail runs looking at flowers and birds are good for the soul but not fast track times.
Came through the mile in 5:58 and 1.5 miles in 8:54 then quit.
Will try to commit to twice weekly workouts and re-visit this in early October.
