Tired today. Questioning my purpose. Sometimes teaching/coaching can wear a person down.

It will pass though.

PM: Ran an easy 2 on the treadmill and then did a hard strength/core workout.

Took Jake's hot tub advice after.

Just send all the kids (not just the runners, the regular students too) out for a gully long run while you hit the hot tub. That'll reset the system.

So I went for a Run...by Mark Remy

I was angry, so I went for a run. And things got better.

I was confused, so I went for a run. And things got better.

I was exhausted, so I went for a run. And things got better.

I was lost, unsure, empty, afraid. Certain that whatever was left of my sanity had snapped, had come untethered and floated away, to a place so high and remote that I would never see it again, and that even if I did, I wouldn't recognize it.

So I went for a run. And things got better.

I felt like things could not possibly get worse, so I went for a run. And things got better.

(Another time, I felt like things could not get much better. I went for a run. Things got much better.)

After enough miles, over enough runs and enough years, I realized: No matter what, no matter when, or where, or why, I can find my shoes and go for a run and things will get better.

And that realization? Just knowing that?

It made things better.

Hang in there, it doesn't just happen to teachers/coaches.

Bret, nice poem.

From the book of Romans 5: 3 And not only that, but we[d] also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.

Yes, hang in there, Rob. Sometimes we just need to get by and wait for things to improve. Running helps.

You just need a good slap.

A R2R2R could do it too.

Miss you guys!

Thanks for coaching us!!! We couldn't have a better Coach!

From Ashton Arndt on Thu, Jan 09, 2014 at 09:56:18 from 163.248.33.220

Blake is right! As your runners we couldn't ask for a better coach. You however have the right to ask for more commitment from certain members of the team.
