Good race for me today despite the fact that EVERY masters runner in Utah beat me. Here is a list of the over 40 runners who finished ahead of me...

Dennis S, Sasha, Steve Anderson, Walter, Taha, Steve Ashbaker, Bill Cobler and maybe more.

But I'm still happy with the way I raced. My splits were consistent right at about 5:45/mile the whole way and I'm usually happy when I break 18 minutes for a 5k on a legit course.

Here's my history with this race...

2005 - 18:54

2006 - 18:13 (won masters)

2007 - 18:27

2009 - 18:03 (won masters)

2010 - 17:51 (won masters)

2012 - 17:27 (won masters)

2013 - 18:22

2014 - 17:54

This race was just stacked everywhere, open and master's. It's fun when that many great runners come out. Nice work and that's a great time. You gotta love that you're a minute faster still than 2005.

50 years old and setting a course PR where you have an eight year history. Color me impressed. Congratulations!

You are aging gracefully. And not slowing down. Nice seeing you today.

Great job today, Rob! You are clearly fit right now! Keep it up!

Good running, Rob. Reading the reports and reports of reports, it sounds like there was some serious racing going on today.

Rob, it was great to see you today as always. It was a deep masters field--a lot of fast dudes running well these days. Keep showing up and throwing it down like you did today--it's inspiring to me :-)

Not a bad race.

I don't remember signing a waiver for that Steve. You will be hearing from my attorney.
