I had a great time at the Heart of Holladay 5k today. My goal was to run as fast as I could without suffering too much ahead of my Half Marathon next Saturday. As often happens, I ended up running solo the last mile and a half which made the last predominately uphill mile really tough.

Finished second to Dennis Simonaitis in the Masters division and had a great conversation with him after about training and racing.

Ran a nice 4 mile cool down with Bill Cobler, Emily Jamison, Susanna H, and a couple other folks. Did 5.5 easy when I got home around Sugarhouse.

Nice job Rob. That's an honest course. I should have stuck around my neighborhood and run this one instead of waking up at 2:30 to go to Provo.

And this was an easy run?!?

Jon - Mostly I was trying to avoid my usual trap of going out way too fast in 5k's. My goal was to feel good at the mile for a change and actually enjoy racing the last couple miles.
