AM: 9.3 miles on the Pipeline Trail. Good run, but the ache in my left knee and a vague feeling in my hip that I wouldn't exactly call pain but is troubling nonetheless caused me th think that this running thing, which has been going on in my life for about 42 years, might not be permanent.

Crowded up there at the end and I just realized that today is actually the 4th of July holiday. Meant that I didn't have to worry about rattlesnakes though.

Not sure if anyone here is a fan of Bernd Heinrich, but he has a new book out tomorrow called Racing the Clock: Running Across a Lifetime

Sorry to hear about your knee and hip. Maybe, like Bernd, you could ponder eliminating digits or, in this case, a limb? Happy 5th!
