I had some success in high school and college. Winner 1985 Rod Dixon Run 

Had a fair amount of success as a Masters runner for most of my 40s. 

Short-Term Running Goals:

Have fun with running, explore more trails, stay healthy.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running and racing consistently for as long as I can. Find what is sustainable for me over the long run.

Personal:

I teach AP European History and other courses at Alta High School. I coached the track and cross country teams at Alta for 16 years.

5.5 miles on the treadmill. Not much, but much better than nothing.

I'm reading  a really good article in The Atlantic called The Last Temptation by Michael Gerson. It's about the enthusiastic support white, evangellical Christians give to Donald Trump. Required reading I think.

Very interesting read indeed. I personally struggle mightily with Trump. And I also struggle with the hypocrisy of those who support him while tending to be followers of Christ. I see no connection between his views of racism and disdain for his fellow man (and don’t get me started on his view of women as objects for his own personal lusts) and the teachings of Christ. I guess the big idea is that many believe their Christian lifestyle so under attack that they will make a deal with the devil who says he will protect that lifestyle. See through the liar’s mask people, please.
