I had some success in high school and college. Winner 1985 Rod Dixon Run 

Had a fair amount of success as a Masters runner for most of my 40s. 

Short-Term Running Goals:

Have fun with running, explore more trails, stay healthy.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running and racing consistently for as long as I can. Find what is sustainable for me over the long run.

Personal:

I teach AP European History and other courses at Alta High School. I coached the track and cross country teams at Alta for 16 years.

11 miles at 7:30 pace up and down the Jordan River Parkway after work. Beautiful afternoon.

Well, I'm all the time sore and achy everywhere. Knees, shins, feet... even after days off or easy days.

I've read lots about how some runners adapted to the realities of an old body and about 60,000 miles on the odometer. John Keston (the first over 70 guy to break 3 hours) trained every other day with long two to three hour walks on the "off" days. Might have to start making some concessions without surrendering.

I just noticed that your Running Accomplishments was changed to "fair amount of success as a masters runner". Cracked me up. That's supposed to be funny right?

I know you never listen to me :), but here's my two cents. Continue with long slow runs, at least 10 miles a day, trails and fun places to run only. In a month you will recapture it all. 4 weeks. Slow.
