6.5 miles in the afternoon heat which relly wasn't that bad. From home, 3 times around SHP, and back home.

I decided to make the Xterra national trail running championships at Snowbasin the focus of my running the next couple months. It's a half marathon on a tough, but not crazy tough, course.

Why?

1. I've never done it before and it sounds like fun.

2. It's on a Sunday! Unheard of here in Utah. You know how most people here can't race on Sunday for religious reasons? Well, I usually can't race on Saturdays for work related reasons, i.e. cross country meets.

I'm hoping all my traditional masters rivals will have their butts in the pews on Sunday leaving me to clean up the awards.

There is a trail race at Alta this Sunday as well. Apparently times are changing.
