Easy run around Sugarhouse and up to Foothill. Cold, feels like snow but it isn't.

I'm having waffles with blackberries now and a cup of coffee. Heading to church in an hour where the kids are practicing for the Christmas program. Andy is an elf. There shouldn't be elves in a church Christmas program should there? Let's see, there was baby Jesus, Joseph, Mary, the Three Wise Men, barn animals, maybe a little drummer boy. Nope, no elf.

I was always one of the 3 kings in my church's xmas play. My grandma always wanted me to play Joseph, but I never wanted a speaking role.

I think its awesome that Andy gets to be an elf! Someday he can play Frosty the snowman

When I was 8 years old my family was SUPER poor (seriously, I was the oldest of 7 kids and my parents were only 25 at the time ... that's right, 7 kids by the time they were 25). Anyway ... one Christmas Eve (I kid you not) an elf came knocking on our door. At least it looked like an elf ... pointy ears and all, delivering a turkey and garbage bags full of wrapped gifts. My parents still have no idea who it was. Anyway, this elf brought presents to all of us children! (My parents later told us that that year they had made dolls out of old socks for us girls and the boys wooden elastic guns, but that is all they could afford that year.) I still remember that night very vividly. It was magical. So yes, in my opinion, there are absolutely elves in the real Christmas story.

It has been a while since I've read the New Testament, I need to double check but I'm pretty sure you're right. No elf. Haha

Jeez Teena, that sounds like a Little House on the Prairie Christmas! Laura getting a doll made out of a corn cob and all.

When I was a kid, my dad was a cop in Los Angeles and he had a co-worker who had something like nine kids. Once, after the birth of one of them, my dad asked him how he afforded all those kids on a cop's salary. Easy he said - you just add another cup of water to the soup!

Thanks fore sharing that. I really enjoyed it.

Jake - that's totally in character if you read Sheehan's "Running and Being". You're just an introverted ectomorph.

No issues with elves as far as I'm concerned. After all, who doesn't love elves? Isn't Legolas everyone's favorite Lord of the Rings character?
