needed to get out of the routine, have been wanting to climb mt. Tam for awhile. Bagged it and then some, started before 7 which is good because on sat the yahoos are in full swing. Started at Stinson Beach to dipsea trail for a couple then "steep ravine" trail through some cool redwoods and by cool creek, all climbing. hook up with the fire road that goes to summit, awesome views of the bay area there. sweeeeet. back down wanted to hook up with Davis singletrack but took a wrong turn and ended up doing 4 extra miles, had to do 2 on the highway to get back to the right spot, cool views though, singletrack back down to stinson beach was tuita! started at sea level, to vert ascent was 3432 ft, descent 3455 took 4 hrs 41 mins. best part by far was the super cold swim in the Pacific. missed the HFF
