AM-  Decided to do my first track workout of the year this morning, and it was nothing blazing, but a good start to the summer.  I have a goal to hit the track once a week, unlike last year where I hit about 6 times the whole year.  I warmed up by running to the AF HS track and then did a 8x400m workout with 200m recoveries.  The HS was hopping with every kind of sport so I had a audience while running.  I ended up running in the 3rd lane most of the time because the first two lanes were getting watered pretty good, so that probably added a couple of seconds to each interval.  Legs felt dead from Saturday too.  Here was the breakdown: 1:15, 1:15, 1:17, 1:16, 1:15, 1:16, 1:15, 1:13.  It was a fairly conservative workout and my heart rate for each interval was around 180bpm.  I did a lot of working on form because it felt so weird to run faster than 5:30 pace.  I cooled down on the run home.  7 miles total 53:00.

(Omni- 472 miles)

Good start to some speed work. Ah I hate the track but it sure can make a difference.

I agree! I hate getting started and doing track work by myself. I just need to get butt out there and do it and it will make a difference, especially in 5k-10k distance.

Are you still planning on a summer running camp in July in Torrey? If so I might bring some of my kids along.

Nice workout and just getting motivated to do it. I've been trying to motivate myself the last two weeks and haven't done so. Like you said it's hard to get out there by yourself.

James as far as the running camp goes. Everyone kind of flaked out and there hasn't been much said about it. I still think it would be way fun and if you had some kids that really would come down then I'd still try to put something together. I still would like to get Dave and Logan to bring a few kids and come as well. I think if anything happens it will be a lot more low-key than I had originally planned.

I am sure I could round up a group of kids to go. Seems like there are a lot people flaking out on a lot of things lately. I would still be interested in resurrecting the camp, especially if you, Dave, and Logan were all up for it.

I'll add to the chorus, good workout and way to finish strong. Good confidence builder going into WBR. Glad to see you completely on the mend and running strong.

I'll be fine I just need to get consistent again with mileage and workouts.
