Today when I got off from work I went straight to bed, so that meant that I had to run when I got up, before I went back to work.  The temps. weren't to bad around 1:30 when I headed out, and for the first 2 miles everything was feeling good!  The last mile the sun came out from behind a cloud and things seemed to heat up, but I don't dare complain about that too much!  No signifigant hip pain today or really last week, just small grublings here and there.  Calves got tight again at about 2 miles and feel sore now, I decided when I got back home that I would call and get an apt. for a massage...(Gasp!)   I feel a little selfish doing this, but am justifying it with the fact that I have been reaching and going over my mileage goal all of Aug. 1 week in July and off to a good start this month!  I'm hoping that I can loosen up those tight calves and then hit a long run later this week!

Head out after work this morning, only 50 degrees out this a.m. I read (I think on Laura's blog) yesterday that that is the perfect running temp. and I think that I agree! Felt great but any cooler and I would have had to put on a long sleeve shirt. Saw scouts putting out flags in the neighborhood yards and it made me so greatful for the great country that we live in and for the many brave people willing to defend it!!!!

Well as soon as the kids are out the door, I am gonna have myself a little snooze, then head off for that massage, and right now I'm not feeling any guilt!!!!!

Went out with my friend and her daughter who rode tandem bikes while I ran. Was hoping to have them push my pace a little, but I think that I just slowed thiers. They stopped about half way to have breakfast at the bakery, and I kept going to add on a little more. Was hoping to do 6 today, but time contraints didn't allow. Left calf still sore, I think that I was expecting my massage to fix everything, but I think that is a little to much to expect, I think it would require a couple of repeats frequently. It did feel great! But I didn't wake up with the body of 25 yr old, ( darn ).

I didn't get out this morning inspite of a planned longer run today... and then when I went to go tonight McCall decided she wanted to go, which cut me short also. So she and I went and did a mile at the softball fields with a few stops and then I was going to do a few more miles on my own, like at least 3. When I headed out it was completely dark, and I cut it to 2 miles. I don't know why I feel more comfortable in the morning in the dark, but tonight it seemed a little more dark or something. So a total of 3 for the day, hopefully make up for it tomorrow!

It took up a good portion of my running energy to just get out the door today! And I really don't know why? But once I got out, I was feeling pretty good. I was doing my 8 mile loop backwards for the first time and wasn't sure how it would turn out. At three miles so good so far, five miles doing fine. 6 miles the wheels start to come off. I don't know what happened from here on out but I can honestly say I can't remember a run that was as hard as the last 2 miles of this one. My hip began to really hurt ( which I thought that I had more or less kicked this problem) and I just felt like every step took all my effort. I managed to limp on into home without stopping, but my pace was barely a crawl. I don't know if it's been that I have slacked a little on my runs the last two weeks or what, but definatley not a great run. Gotta get out and redeem myself tomorrow!

one easy mile with McCall for a warm up, and then 2 .5 on my own. After yesterdays run and my hip hurting all day I was a little hesitant about getting out on it and considered calling it good for the weekend. When I got out of bed, it was still giving me alot of problems. But I decided to do some easy warm up with McCall and see how it went. The first few steps really were painful, but after that it seemed to ease up. So I decided to do a few on my own. I'm glad I did, it seems to have loosened things up, and it actually feels a little better!
