keep running, stay fit and healthy, while having fun. Would like to get my mileage up to 25 miles a week and plan some short races when I get confident with my speed.

Yet another GOOSE EGG for me!!! I'm begining to wonder if I'll even know how to run if I ever get back out there! We are still at the hospital and I was going to get out and do some running today, but I really like to be here when the Doc's make rounds but that has been an all day process the last few days and I hate to leave because then I end up missing them when I leave the room. The med student rounds about 6:00 a.m. and then the resident comes between 7:00 a.m.- 10:00 and the the actual surgeon comes between 10:00a.m. untill 10:00 at night. Last night I waited untill around 1:00 a.m. when she was supposed to come by and then didn't see anyone untill this morning. I do the stairs every time I get something to eat, and try to add in extra sets of stairs when I dare leave long enough to stretch and get out of the room. I even did leg lifts and squats in the room yesterday but I'm sure that it's not enough to make up for the 3 square meals that I'm eating here due to lack of any other form of real entertainment!!! Hoping to maybe go home tomorrow, my body will thank me when I can get back on my regular shedule of running and eating better. Im not sure if I''ll even dare go near the scales when I do get back home. Jamie is doing pretty well, she feels good, but there have been complications and we may end up going home with a PIC line for some home I.V antibiotics and we will be doing wet dressing changes in her incision for up to a month and then more surgery..... hopefully things will heal sooner and we can get the next surgery done sooner and be over with this whole mess! At this point I don't really care just getting home and sleeping in an actual bed and getting to be out of this little room will be the best thing ever!!!

So I was out going for a quick walk to strech my legs and I saw a sign that said that if you walk the breeze way between Primary Childrens and the U of U 11 times that it equals 1 mile, so I hurried and walked the mile. I will get back later and do another one or two. I realize it's not running but it's better than nothing. Sure wish that I would have seen that sooner, but the other good news is that they finally decided no pic line and that we should be OTTA HERE tomorrow!!!

I hope things can all workout for the best for your family and especially your daughter. Kim and I will keep thinking about you in our prayers. Good luck with everything!

What a long few days its been for you & your family!! You're a trooper! Glad you can go home soon, sounds like it will still be touch & go for awhile though. Don't worry about running, I bet your body is thanking you for the break and you'll be fresh & strong when you get back out there. Hope you get home soon!

Oh yeah, to answer your questions I'm doing a 10k in Feb (can't remember name, its a small race) March I'm doing Spectrum 10k and April I'm planning on Striders w/ you!! (can't wait!) If you want to come down for Spectrum in March that is a nice downhill PR course and very scenic too. I ran it last year and really liked it.

Oh man! I am so sorry. Hope you guys can go home soon! I remember feeling that way when my little 2 year-old had pneumonia and was in the hospital for several days. It is no fun--there is no sleeping allowed! To make sure of it, they come in and take blood pressure every time you doze off. Sweet Jamie, I hope her recovery goes smoothly from here on out.

So glad you will be able to head home tomorrow. You have been through quite the ordeal. You seem to be hanging in there and hopefully everything will be better and back to normal for all of you soon.

Michelle, glad your daughter is doing better. Hope you get to go home soon!

Oh, Michelle. I haven't been able to run much lately (which makes me feel guilty about checking the blog) so I didn't hear about your daughter's surgery and complications. I'm so sorry. It sounds like an infection in her g-tube?? I hope she's doing okay. Even though she may be "used to it" - no one can possibly enjoy it! I wish Jamie a SPEEDY recovery and a successful outcome. My thoughts and prayers will be with you. I know how awful it can be.
