keep running, stay fit and healthy, while having fun. Would like to get my mileage up to 25 miles a week and plan some short races when I get confident with my speed.

Walking.  I've had 2 sessions of physical therapy and 2 sessions with the chiro and the hip is feeling better.  I've walked 3 miles the last 2 days with no pain, just stiffness and tightness in the area.  Sat. when I was walking I ran about 30 steps and the pain came back so I quit.  I'm trying to be patient, but I'm soooo bad at it.  But I don't want to put myself back to square one so for now I will walk.  I was doing some gentle stretching today when I got home and my hip kinda gave in the direction in the stretch and I felt pain and a popping/tearing sensation (oops!)  It's not in the area that is the worst of the pain, there seems to be more than one area that hurts, but the one that popped today was in the area of least concern so I guess it could be worse.  So for now I guess that I'll keep to my walks and hopefully in the next week or so get back to running!

Michelle, slow and easy on the comeback. There is plenty of time to get ready for some fun summer running and racing with bloggies.

Hey- I just responded to your comment on my blog w/ "I hope you're getting some walks in" then I checked this- obviously you are! I'm glad you're seeing a PT and Chiro to help- I wish you a FAST recovery. How's everything else going?

Glad to have you at least back on the blog! Keep up the walking and you will be back at it in no time. Are you guys coming down this way anytime?

Hey Michelle! I'm so happy to "see" you! Great job on your walk. You'll maintain a lot a fitness by getting in these long walks.

Yay for a walking buddy :-D. Take it from someone that made the mistake to try to run through initial pain, slow and steady. Listen to your body. I'm still not at 100%, but thanking God for every day I can get up and out the door and take in the sights and smells even if its just walking. Best of luck and you're in my prayers! Thanks for all the encouragement lately!

Hey Michelle - was wondering how the recovery is going and when we will see you blogging again!

From Lulu on Sat, Apr 12, 2008 at 23:48:00

Hey,

I miss seeing your write up. I hope everything is ok.

How's the walking going? I had never even considered walking as a means of x-training or recovery, but after Will suggested it, I've found it really has helped me get better! I hope everything is working out for you, Michelle and that you can get back out on the running scene ASAP!
