Did a half a few years ago, unsure of my time but nothing to write home about. I trained about 6 months and then took about 2yrs. off. Started running again this year but have never done anything serious.

Short-Term Running Goals:

keep running, stay fit and healthy, while having fun. Would like to get my mileage up to 25 miles a week and plan some short races when I get confident with my speed.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Get my mileage back up and run pain free!

My husband drug me out of bed and then shoved me out the door to run....JK, but it kinda felt that way! He had to be into work at 6:00 a.m. yesterday and didn't run and he was feeling rested and ready to go. I on the other hand didn''t feel bad considering the long run yesterday but "rested" was a little more than a term I would use. I started out telling him to be nice to me. We did the first 3 pretty well and he stayed with me. After that I either got slower or he got faster but the gap was getting bigger (maybe a little of both). When we got to the turn to go home he took the ipod to do a few more and I slipped home. All in all I still feel pretty good and am looking forward to tomorrow off from running and then will start to taper off next week.

Thats great that you got out and got it done. I always feel like I am just chasing my running partners shadow. But without her I would definitely not get out and get it done. Have a great day off.

Michelle, when are you going to up date your short term and long term goals? You've been running over 25 miles a weeks for a while and you are going to run a half this month. So what's next? I am excited to know. If you don't know that's fine. I am a bit like that myself. Finaly, I decided that I want to run more halfs. But, I am still trying to find races. I've found one so far. Most are on Sundays.

You are one hard working gal. It's always fun to read your blog.

Excellent job Friday on that long run! Do you mean to tell me you did it all without food or water?! And you ran again today. I'd say you're in great shape for Saturday! So you got new saucony's? I ended up w/ Mizunos, put a 12 miler on them and really liked them. What is your goal for Saturday? Can't wait to see ya!

Good job, Michelle. You and your hubby are such a cute couple!

You asked about the get together- the latest is that we're meeting at Steve Hoopers. He was nice enough to offer to host at his new house. I think it will be similar to Mik'L party. Steve will provide pasta- everyone else to bring a side dish. I'm still going to try to find some good pants this week to wear. (ok that was random... hee hee)

Gotta' love husbands who help motivate us. I can't believe your hubby hasn't joined the blog yet.

I kind of feel like a kid at Christmas. Counting down the days until Saturday. Weird....running 13 miles/Christmas? What's up with that? See you soon! Hope this week of tapering is enjoyable. I am actually going to do about the same as you with the taper. 5,4,3,2,1. Blast Off!
