Short-Term Running Goals:

keep running, stay fit and healthy, while having fun. Would like to get my mileage up to 25 miles a week and plan some short races when I get confident with my speed.

Get my mileage back up and run pain free!

I almost didn't make it out today, but at the last minute before giving up and just taking a shower I willed myself out the door. It was soooo nice out, was able to dress down a bit and that felt really nice too! As for the run once again, it felt pretty hard? I can't figure it out, all of my runs except for one this week have really worked me over. Todays 7.7 felt more like about 12 but at least I got it in and hopefully next week things will feel a little better! Did love the weather and could really get used to that but I hear that we have a bit of a storm coming so I guess we just enjoy it while it lasts and look forward to spring when it decides to show up. I know that it's a little early to think about but we have got to start seeing a few of these nice days here and there as we are inching into Feb!!

Hey Michelle, My run today felt harder also, but was so enjoyable in the sun that it makes up for it!

Way to get out the door! That is usually the hardest part!

You finished up the week with some NICE mileage despite the rough start to your week- GREAT job! As always- you inspire me!

Hi Michelle! To answer your question I used to be quite a bit faster than Heather but she has caught me and I'm sure she could smoke me if she wanted to. I think a few factors sped her up: 1. she lost 20 lbs

2. she has been going to weight training class at gym 2x a week- her legs seem really strong and helps her w/ endurance running- she doesn't tire as easy

3. Lastly- what has helped BOTH of up speed up is running w/ faster people! About 1x a week we run w/ a group of seasoned gals who have all run Boston and they keep us on our toes

I think you are speedy! But if you want to get even faster maybe see if there's a faster person you can run with 1x a week. You may think you're slowing them down, but maybe it can be an easy run for them and a challenging run for you. Wish you lived closer, I'd drag you with us on our Sat. long runs!

Great job today! Sounds like you exercised your will power too! (I can't tell if my legs or my will power benefits more from running) Your mileage is awesome this week. Hope you enjoy some easy time before work tomorrow.

Good job getting out. If you've had a little less energy this week, I bet it's because of all the stress you've been dealing with. It takes a toll! You're storing up running highs for your next race, though, with your determination.
