Ran trails with my running girlfriend. I think because she was injured all last summer she now wants to run the trails all the time. We started down at the rainbow gardens resturant, right at the mouth of the canyon. Then we went up the trails behind there... it added about a mile on to our regular route. I think this will be a regular route for a while the add more after that. It was a pretty nice run. Now off to all the chores that need to get done this weekend :)

Running trails must be a lot of fun, though slow like you said. I think that just goes with the territory. I tend to fall down a lot on trails.

Sno... Trail running is great!! I have loved it from the first time my friend took me up there... even though it killed me. I wish I could do it faster, but I don't know if that will happen. I have had a few good falls... lots of skinned knees LOL

It sounds like you had a fun run. I'm glad your friend is able to run again.

There must be different kinds of trails. The Highline Canal Trail that I run on is just packed dirt and I don't find a huge difference between running on that and on the roads. What is your trail like? It sounds like it's more mountainous than the trail I run.

Carolyn,

The trail that we mainly run on is a single track trail... has some rockiness to it in some spots. Pretty rolly... with stretches of climbing. Not as steep as the Malan Peak hike that I went on with hubby Tues. but probably between 6-8% grades.
