Could not get up before work and run so I ended up doing the miles after work... Man I just really need to do better. I kept it at between 9 and 9.5 mm. My heel was buggin just a bit. I iced it at work and last night and it seems to be helping. I do have a new pain... the bone on the outside of your leg just at your knee... it kinda sticks out a bit. It's hurting right long the outside of that bone... then sometimes when it's bad it hurts down to my anckel bone. You know that tendon thing that you can feel. Anyway anyone know what that is? I have been streatching and icing. Is it just runner's knee? Or ITB? I need to get feeling better soon, I signed up for TOU half on the 29th...!And my running friend wants to do 14 this Saturday LOL Well off to soak in the tube.

Apparently it's affecting your writing skills, too. LOL!

From Smooth on Thu, Aug 13, 2009 at 22:36:50 from 71.36.84.38

That bone sticking out on the outside of you knee is called Gerdy's Tubercle. The ITB begins in the hip as the tensor fascia latae muscle attaches at the iliac and inserts along the lateral (outside) portion of the patella (knee cap) and into the tibia (shin) bone over the Gerdy's Tubercle (that bump on the lateral side of the knee).

The classic symptoms of ITBS are pain along the lateral aspect of the knee joint sometimes accompanied by a clicking sensation.

Baby that lateral muscle from hip to ankle. Are you wearing shoes with mega mileage?

Wow, Smooth really knows her stuff. Be careful and don't push yourself too hard.

Burt... I never claimed to have good writing skills, I guess they really deteriorate when I'm in pain.

Smooothe... wow thanks for the anatomy lesson! My shoes have just over 100 miles on them so I don't think they are causing the problem. I have always had a clicking sensation on that part of me knee even before I was ever running.

Carolyn, I will try to take it easy but I don't know if it's going to work for now... I guess ice will be my new BFF!

Just giving you a hard time. Have fun in the tube.

From argentinerocket on Fri, Aug 14, 2009 at 12:08:52 from 74.9.147.114

Yeah, it doesn't sound like ITB... I hope the pain goes away, nice miles girl!

Oh CRAP Lori!!! The foam roller is sure fun for the ITB :p I can use it now with out whimpering :)

How's the heel? Your miles on Saturday were SUPER cool :) I love the new pic :D
