Short-Term Running Goals:

It's been a challenging year so far since Boston 2011.  When I got home from Boston my world changed when I found out I had some pretty severe food allergies. Since being tested I have been focused on building my health back up which has been a long slow process. What a difference it's made and I feel extremely blessed. For years I knew something was wrong and it's amazing to finally know that food can actually be a persons medicine to live a healthy life. 

Long-Term Running Goals:

I'm hoping to start building more miles when I can and be injury free.  Maybe one of these days I'll be fast. Just for now I'm just very happy to be running.

Personal:

Happily married to Marlin Ordway. We've got 4 grown children between the two of us.  It's been fun watching them go through life - making mistakes and picking themselves back up.  I love seeming them happy and succeeding.

AM run before work.  I'm liking the cooler weather. Just like it being dark longer.  Almost didn't have enough time to do my run because I started alittle late.  Butl, still made it on time for work!

Lunch- can't run during lunch, but, I was glad I could get out and walk for 20-25 min.  Loving the warm weather.

I made it out the door earlier this morning. Trying to stay motivated rather than feel like I'm going through the motions. Normal run. Just alittle tired and glad to get it done.

Ran earlier today at 5am.   I wanted to get done earlier and try to get into work earlier.  It was  pretty dark so I wore my headlamp.  Felt like it was hard to get and maintain a good pace in the dark.  I got home before the sun even came up.   Since I had my headlamp on more dogs barked which I didn't like.  Kind of strange hearing an owner call for his dog while I was out running.  He must have been out working in the fields or getting his newspaper.   When cars pass me in the morning at that time I always wonder what they think of someone being out that early.  Crazy person!   I think tomorrow I'll actually go to work early and get off by 2pm.  Will try running in the afternoon to see how it goes.

PM lunch. Nice day so walked durning lunch. Was probably more than 1mile, but will post 1 extra mile for the day.

Went to work early today.  Normally would be out running at that time - 5:30am.  But, wanted to try and run later in the day.  I almost didn't go after work because it was windy. But, went ahead and went.  It was hard running up a couple of the hills with the wind. But, was glad to be running in the daylight.  Just did 6.5 miles and was glad to maintain a 9 mile average pace with the wind.

Went to work early today 5am.  Wanted to get off early and then run. It was pretty warm with a breeze and I felt I was struggling throughout the run. Average pace as 9.5 min mile.  Wanted to take it easy because I want to have a good run tomorrow. Either that or take the day off and have a long run on Sunday which is what I should probably do.

Thought about taking the day off today, but i wanted to get to 40 miles for the week so I went and ran a couple times around the river.  Nice having a more flat surface to run on. Pretty easy run.
