I had to wake up at 4:40 am today to get the run in while children were sleeping so I didn't have to push the stroller.

I had one of those non sleep nights because I kept thinking and dreaming about waking up in a couple hours.  Here is the condensed version of my never ending running anxiety dream:

Woke up at 1:30am.  It was still light out.  We were in Southern Utah.  We went to a gas station.  Met up with several other runners from Michigan who couldn't sleep because of the bright sun in the West.  We were at the starting line for a 1/2 marathon trail run.  I met Amber (from the blog.  She must have been in my dream b/c I just read her blog two days ago.  I've never met her in person).  The gun went off and I realized I didn't have my shoes on.  I had to run back to the gas station, put them on and come back.  By this time everyone was gone and I didn't know where to go.  Someone tried to sketch the course.  I was running with a piece of paper with a pseudo map on it.  I then ran through buildings and down hallways of a big church.  I realized I was running in my underwear and got really embarrassed.  Luckily, the people at the church were putting on a play and they had a dirndl (traditional german dress) with a tear in it that they let me wear.  I kept running with the dirndl on and was stopped at a bunch of clutter.  I dug through the clutter and found the original Declaration of Independence and then hit a wall blocking my path.  I gave the Declaration of Independence to an old lady with glasses and then kept looking for a way to finish the run.  I looked out the window and saw a couple of familiar faces playing leap frog across several fountains.  I met up with them and traded the 1/2 gallon of full fat vitamin D milk I was carrying for a 1/2 gallon of skim milk.  (Where was the water?)  I was relieved to know that at least I found the trail.

I guess the run this morning went well in spite of the restless sleep and running anxiety dream.  The dream actually was helpful because it distracted me for at least the first two miles of our run.  Hopefully, I'll get better sleep tonight for the long run tomorrow.
