Long-Term Running Goals: Maintain my health and continuously seek to improve my fitness. Maybe someday get under 3:00 for marathon. More importantly, I'd like to figure out what my maximum ability is and reach that.
I'd also like to find the right balance in life and use running to enhance and improve myself.
Personal: Dad of three (welcome Charlotte Dani on 8/10/20) awesome kids and stepdad to three almost as awesome as my own kids.
I have a brown dog named Stella, and three cats - Catty, Tortie, and Esperanza.
(old lines that were a little out of date but couldn't quite bring myself to removing them completely:) Also, have one wonderful brown dog named Sammy and just added a grey tiger cat (Catty) whose life started out rough but now has a better home.
I've recently started another blog so I can easily add lots of pictures and so other non-FRB users can leave comments:
Forward Progress!
Also, for 2012 I started a blog to write down each day one thing that I am grateful for

Ran in Westlake Village doing a couple of loops around inside the neighborhood. Today is an 8 mile day but I decided to break this up into two runs because I didn't get up early enough before getting ready to go to Busch Gardens, however as it turned out I could have finished up the miles since not everyone was ready to go after I got back.
PM - 2.65@8:50
On the way back from Busch Gardens stopped off at a doctor appointment for one of the kids. I finished up the miles nearby, route was down McMullen Booth Road and then back and forth over that pedestrian bridge that's part of the Ream Wilson Clearwater Trail (I've always wanted to run over that bridge).
Just now realized it came out to 8.88 miles

Workout of the day 2x3 mi at "tempo" pace, then 1 more mile at tempo pace with three minute rest between sets. There was also a 1 mile warmup and 1 mile cool down.
Did the run looping inside of Westlake Village.
Hard for me to get on pace the first couple of miles, but mile 3 of the first set was good at 7:11.
Next set was better and then the lone mile at the end was 6:45
Set 1: 7:56, 7:39, 7:11
Set 2: 7:28, 7:05, 7:04
Last mile: 6:45
Overall was a really good run especially the last 3 fast miles. Hoping to get back to running more than 1 sub-7:00 mile in a row and eventually back down to sub-20:00 5k's, but this is good for now as long as I can keep moving in that direction.
