Long-Term Running Goals: Maintain my health and continuously seek to improve my fitness. Maybe someday get under 3:00 for marathon. More importantly, I'd like to figure out what my maximum ability is and reach that.
I'd also like to find the right balance in life and use running to enhance and improve myself.
Personal: Dad of three (welcome Charlotte Dani on 8/10/20) awesome kids and stepdad to three almost as awesome as my own kids.
I have a brown dog named Stella, and three cats - Catty, Tortie, and Esperanza.
(old lines that were a little out of date but couldn't quite bring myself to removing them completely:) Also, have one wonderful brown dog named Sammy and just added a grey tiger cat (Catty) whose life started out rough but now has a better home.
I've recently started another blog so I can easily add lots of pictures and so other non-FRB users can leave comments:
Forward Progress!
Also, for 2012 I started a blog to write down each day one thing that I am grateful for

| No run today, just walk.
Training plan said 10 Saturday/5 Sunday, but I did a little over 13 yesterday so just walked a bit today for the taper

Garmin suggested workout, 34 minutes @7:40 pace which ended up being 7:23 average.
I didn't feel like doing this workout at first, and the first mile felt hard but glad I did it in the end. I'm running less miles this week but wanted at least one run faster before heading into the 100 miler.

Wednesday night Starkey Market run club. Was supposed to run with Daisy for her birthday but she wasn't feeling well. Just missed the rain. Kept it easy, simple out and back, meant to run smoothly and inside zone 2 but it kept drifting higher so it became a run/walk.
Chatted with Joe and Evan after the run and had the free 4 oz beer. When generous they load it up with a lot of fresh blueberries, but tonight was not that night.

For some reason the pace was 25 seconds faster than last night with heart rate 16 bpm lower. Did planned 1/4 mile run/walk intervals, so maybe that is the reason. Did some strides at the end so maybe that accounted for some of the faster pace.
Was chilly and breezy as the cold front moves in. Wore a hat when starting but took it off in the middle of the run as I started feeling hot.
Big run this Saturday/Sunday
