I just started college and am a little lost without my xc and track from high school!  But I'm beginning to breach the long-distance scene, which is fantastic!

I did three easy miles in the morning and a speed workout in the evening.  One 800 at 3:34 and two 400s at about 1:47.  I was pretty sore, so I didn't push too hard, but I felt good about the workout anyway.

I felt like I had very little energy today, and I am a little sore.  I think I will ice and eat more.

We did 4 easy miles and about .5 miles of strides and hills.  I was kind of sore but feeling better than last week.

I went on a hike, it was about 8 miles and pretty steep.  Since I wasn't running it I halved the distance.  It felt really good, one thing I've noticed about hiking is that you use a lot of muscles in your quads, especially on steep downhills so you can balance.

4.25 miles of running at a fairly high altitude and 4 miles of hiking.  I didn't get to run too much at camp, but I at least got some in.

I ran from my house to the cemetery and back, and I didn't get lost!  It was pretty good, I did about 10 minute miles but slowed down on the last mile.  I saw Tolbert while I was out running, and that was kind of weird. That was 6.5 miles.

I ran in the evening with USATF but didn't do a lot because I wasn't feeling very good.  Anyone have hints on preventing sideaches?  I don't get them a lot, but today was bad.

It was a nice easy workot today.  I taught the freshmen how to do firemen, it was really fun.  I love freshmen!

I felt really good today.  We did 2 miles of speed changes, I actually beat Susannah and Bre (yeah, for once in my life, I know, but it still made me happy). 

2 easy miles in the evening.

Hiking 9 miles.  I can tell you, my shoulders were not ready for that 25 pound pack.

Hiked to the top of Kings and back to camp, about 14 miles.  I came down the scree pile, for anyone doing Kings that is NOT the way to go.  Just for a heads up.

I hiked back out and came home.  It was really nice, but that pack didn't feel too much lighter than it did going in.

We ran on the Dry Creek trail.  It's an easier run than bike, and really beautiful.

We did some hills today.  I was sore but felt o.k. about the workout.

We ran on the Jordan River Trail. It was a beautiful run, but my quads were pretty sore.
