I had to run at lunchtime today. I went to a fantastic reunion/wedding reception attended by 65% of all my favorite people in Salt Lake yesteday, so I didn't get to bed until midnight.  MIDNIGHT!  Unless I'm watching Saturday Night Live, that just doesn't happen anymore.  I am usually a goner by 9:15.  So I was sleepy today. Trust me, you do not want me on your team when I get less than 8 hours of sleep--which is today. But I went out and gave it my all.  The effort actually made me cry involuntuntarily a few times.  I stopped twice and significantly slowed down at least 3 to catch my breath.  I wanted the run to be a sustained steady pace, but found it hard to maintain what I hoped to be 8:50's.  Ave pace 8:56 (how heartbreaking is that? .6 off).  8:52/8:55/8:31/8:43/8:52/9:13/8:59/9:31 (9:45)

Those are AWESOME pace on little sleep and mid-day run. No worries about the .06. You're there already. AWESOME JOB and EXCELLENT effort...check out that 8:31.

You fall asleep by 9:15? I would love to go to bed that early. But hubby always has meetings and comes home so late. He doesn't seem to need more than 5 hours sleep. Not me, I need minimum 7 which I rarely get. I think 8 will be ideal for me.

I know you like to fancy yourself 'human' and everything, but we all know otherwise. You are SUPER human. It doesn't surprize me at all you can function on less sleep than the prerequisit 8 hours. But now 5, that's going to far. Tell him to stop that until he's like in his 80's and has time for naps in the afternoon. Just the thought of 5 hours of sleep is making me want to lie under my desk right now and sleep the rest of the day.

We should run together every day, then we can CRY together, too! At least you enjoyed beautiful weather, right? Get some rest!!!
