I finally put a $140,000, 25 page grant to rest yesterday by 5:00.  I feel much better having met the deadline (a few hours early even).  I'll feel even better if I get the grant.  Today I let myself meander along the trail feeling the coolness in the air at who-knows-how-fast because my Garmin was out of juice this morning (as was I).  I noted how much both the daylight and the air have changed this week.  It's not that end of summer air that lies upon the atmosphere like a cool sheet, it's the kind of brisk air that comes up from cooling ground and trees.  I do love changes that come in September and October.  They are my favorite months. But the cool air made me really hungry! I swear by seasonal eating. I can promise you that as soon as it starts gets cool I crave potatoes, bread, and all things carbohydrate.  So when I got back, I ate 2 scrambled eggs inside a warmed whole wheat pita, with avacado slices and black bean salsa.  I may be a so-so runner, but man I am so good at eating.

Cool air means SOUP and bread to me.

Hey, have you ever tried the Athena bra by Title Nine, or just the frog bra?

From LuzyLew on Wed, Sep 02, 2009 at 14:36:40 from 208.187.197.42

I tried the Athena but then sent it back because it rubbed so much I bled (in an under 8 mile run). And while I hate stuggling to put a bra over the top of my head, I just don't think that the clasp bra's have as much support. I would try the three-blessings bra before any of the others they sell. I also like the moving comfort 'Melbourne' (but that's an over the head one). This summer I bought a cheaper Champion 'shape T-back', but had to buy small. It works, and doesn't rub, but I have skin that falls over the armpits/back.

Is the frog bra you loved not from the same place?? Last time we discussed bras I listened and then forgot. All of my bras were knew so I wanted to wait, but it is now time to replace them and I want to get the very best one I can!!!

Have you ever tried the Oprah bra?

Do you know how to find a discount code for Title Nine (it says to look on your catalog, but I do not have one, of course. I know the Yoga teacher does, maybe she can get me one!)

THANKS!!! I want to wear a tank top, but have got to find better bras that do not send my ample chest into my armpits!

Nice run this morning...and I wish I was feeling some of that 'cool' weather, it still seems warm to me. A few weeks ago was nice!

I'm spying on your bra discussion...I need a new one too. The only two I have and like have gotten worn out and given me chaffing the last few long runs.

From LuzyLew on Wed, Sep 02, 2009 at 15:48:17 from 208.187.197.42

I love the frog bra. I have 4 and rotate them. It's pretty hard core compression fabric--not pretty, not soft. But I've liked that, it feels like a really big, strong ace bandage. My second choice to try right now would be the 3 blessings. Call the catalogue people and ask about the discount code. I am not a smart shopper because I find every time I 'save' money, I pay in quality (particularly where bras are concerned). As for the Oprah Bra--I've never seen or heard of it. I'll have to look into that one for next time.

The Oprah bra has like 800 clasps down the front of it, it just looks like a pain. but she swears by it. They sell them at Wasatch Running. It is actually called the Enell Bra, Oprah just made them famous.

If you have the catalog you just get free shipping, that is all. So, is the frog bra from the same store? What about sizing? Do you go with the same size as regular bras?

Oh, and I forgot to ask about Provo Canyon....I am going to come run up and down it Saturday. I know there are bathrooms, are there drinking fountains? If I start at the Riverwoods shopping center, do you know about how far I can go up?

THANKS!

For some reason, the air is still icky here on the bench. Hope it will be nice down in Spanish this Sat. I love the season changes too.

You totally lost me on the bra discussions. I do like Moving Comfort and CWX bras. I washed the expensive ones by hand so they last longer.

Kelli, we are running Provo Canyon NEXT Sat. Do you want to join us? There's a drinking fountain about a mile from the mouth of the canyon, so a little over 2 miles from the Riverwoods; then at Nunn's Park and Vivian's. From Riverwoods to Vivian's is about 7 miles; then up South Fork Road is another 4 miles.

Soccer games....dang it! We do not have any this week!

From LuzyLew on Wed, Sep 02, 2009 at 16:14:46 from 208.187.197.42

It is a pain to order from a catalogue and to guess sizes. I can get you a catalogue code once I'm home. I always get as small as I can handle (32 C or S) even though I'm a 32 D in a regular bra. As for the Canyon. There are no bathrooms (public) that I ever use at the Riverwoods. But if you start at Riverwoods, a mile to the mouth of the canyon, there are bathrooms there at Will's Canyon Stop (but it's a ways off the trail), a fountain at mile 2, bathrooms and a fountain at Nunn's Park (about mile 4), at Vivian Park (mile 7ish) there is water & bathrooms. If you need more miles, you can trek on the road that goes up the South Fork Canyon behind Vivian. Three and a half up from there, is a park with water/bathrooms. But once you get out of the canyon, for about 7 miles west-- no bathrooms/no water!
