Why Hello my Lucky Skunk! SO sorry to hear that you are sick. That is no fun. What kind of sickness do you have? Hope you feel better soon!

Sorry you are sick, there has definitely been something going around here in Utah. I swear I have had a cold for about 6 weeks that I just can not shake!
I LOVE your goal to win a race, it is very cool. Although I can not say I am NAN (who wins BIG marathons, THAT would be so cool), I did win a little local 5k and I felt like a superstar!!! I wanted to stand on a podium to be recognized by all, but they just gave me a medal---one that I would like to frame!
Best of luck to you with your running goals and getting better!

Thanks Nan and Kelli--
My kids had pink eye, rash from Fifth's disease, cough, snotty nose, and fever. Strep has been going around, but that wasn't it. In the end, I could have had any of those things, or just allergies (so hard to tell). But I feel better now. Now I just have to convince myself I want to go running in this wet snow. Yeah for snow!!! It has been too dry this winter.
Kelli-I checked out your blog--you're very fast. Did you run in college or something?
Nan-I don't need to tell you how fast you are. But every once in a while when you're injured I think to myself, "Hey, I could do that pace"...I sure wish you would stop getting injured. I've counting on a trip to England in 2012.

I am just your average runner, really. NAN is super human fast!
I started running casually about 8 years ago after having my 4th child, just a mile here and there. I finally had time for myself because I got to quit working (being a teacher will not cover 4 kids in daycare!) Then I had another child and took a break for a bit. I started the racing thing about 2 years ago, so I guess that is when I got serious. However, I kind of started dreading running with the serious training, so now I am back to just having fun and running easy most of the time. I think all of my PR's are carved in stone, aside from maybe the 5k as I have only ever run one.
Glad you are better, gotta love it when the kids bring all of the crap into the house. pink eye is my worst nightmare!!!!
