3 easy miles to warm up, followed by an 8 mile tempo and 1 mile cool down. The workout wasn't great this morning. I woke up to February and finished my last 3 miles in snow and wind. I couldn't feel my hands/fingers/legs/etc. You get the idea. Where did April go? I ran the WalMart Loop again, hoping to get the same as last weeks time (5:45/mile average), but it didn't happen. Oh well....

Cool picture. Where is it? Good workout as well.

A couple weekends ago, I went to Arizona to help my in-laws move. They lived close to Monument Valley, so I got up early Saturday morning and ran near the national monument with the sunrise. It was pretty sweet. Some old Navajo guy saw me running and asked me if I was Forrest Gump. I told him no, but I was trying. He then told me I was on the wrong road if I was trying to re-create the movie scene. Pretty funny...

I thought it looked like Monument Valley. That's sweet for sure. I want to go re-create the movie and get a picture like yours.

Nice workout! It turns out Pullman is at about 2500 ft, did you think this altitude affected the times at all?

From Little Bad Legs on Thu, Apr 10, 2008 at 10:32:17

Tyler- I'm a big believer in faster times at lower altitude, even 2500 ft since you're used to training at 4500 ft. For my situation, it was the closest race, so that's the main/only reason I went. I thought of it as a best-of-both-worlds scenario-- it's lower elevation than what you're used to, but you still get some altitude adjustment to bring your time down even more....
