I had this great idea that I would turn the Thursday night tempo into a long run. The plan was to run 9 miles, then do the tempo with everyone else (at a slower pace of course) for a total of 14 miles. It ended up being over 95 degrees and my body just couldn't handle it. I did 7 instead of 9 before, then couldn't finish the tempo. I am okay with it though, I did my best and the heat just killed me. My legs were aching so bad after that I had to lay down on a bench to put them up. I probably ended up doing just short of 10. Not quite what I wanted due to the 20k next weekend, but I figure that race is more like a workout for me anyway. |
