I really need help!!! I decided today that I am going to buy a GPS watch. I am a little worried about staying on pace at my marathon since there will be so few people there. I am overwhelmed with the options and if anyone could tell me what they think about any particular type I would really appreciate it.

I want a small one because my wrists are so small, but I also wanted one with the least options. I kind of just wanted one to tell my distance and pace, not heart rate or link to my computer or anything like that.

I'd appreciate any help!!! Thanks!

I have a Garmin 305. I really like it the best of everything I have tried. I do not recommend those that require a foot pod. Good Luck!

Thanks so much Jody, that helps more than you know! I was so overwhelmed and just needed someone to recommend a good one. Thanks again!

I've got a Garmin Forerunner 205. It's just like the 305 except no heart rate monitor, therefore it's less expensive.

My old Garmin 205 went bonkers this summer and I upgraded to the 405. I LOVE it. It is still a big watch, but it sits more comfortably on my tiny wrists (5.5" around at the wrist bone). I love the Sage green color too -- sorry guys, but we women don't always want a big honkin' black thing on our wrists. Technically, the 405 is a huge improvement over my old 205. I got the one without a heart rate monitor to save money. Good luck! :)

Thanks everyone for your help! It looks like all of you are happy with your Garmins so I am going to go to best buy to see which ones they have there. Time to spend some money!

I have a Polar RS800 and think its great. A heart monitor on your wrist is not 100% exact, the band on the chest is better. And Polar uses a foot pod, but i've had no problem with it. It measures pace, altitude, distance, heart rate, etc, and another 1,000 things I don't know how to use yet.

And its very light, they have smaller versions also...
