6:50 a.m.  For the first time in years I drove somewhere to do a run.  I didn't have time to run to FH, and I wanted to get in 5 switchbacks.  1 mile warmup, then 5 up and down.  4 and 5 were tough.  This may not be the most genius thing to be doing 2 days before a half I'm pretty serious about...

I got home in time to take my son to a tennis thing, then fed Jack and played with him for a while.  I managed to show up at work by 9:30, and I still want to throw up.  Good workout.  23/100

seems like JUST the thing to do two days before a good half marathon. it'll put some extra spring in your legs for saturday!

Okay fill me in on the 23/100 thing?

Nice running and good luck at your half this weekend. Maybe this year they'll start it on time. :)

The 23/100 thing are .5 mile hill repeats on 10% grade. I'm getting tired of them, and I think the recovery is too long, but I'll finish them up by the end of September. That's the goal, anyway. I haven't run an aided half since 2009, (1:30:12) so I'm hoping for/expecting good things Saturday. I've never run hobble. I hope they have their crap together and start on time. That tends to matter at the end.

I have never raced hobble but I paced a friend last year and run that canyon all the time. It really is an ideal course and the downhill is gradual enough to be quite forgiving. Unlike Halloween half or Nebo that just completely beat up the body.

I'm sure you've done your research on the course and as long as you can keep it together the last 3 miles I think you will really surprise yourself. The worst part about the race is that the first 9-10 miles are completely shaded and it gets incredibly hot the last 3. Last year it didn't start until 7:40ish so hopefully they get there crap together this year.

Good luck Kam! I'm excited to hear how it goes.
