6:30 a.m.  8 switchbacks.  On the first one I saw a skunk, which startled me, big time.  I'm glad he was facing me, rather than looking at the south end.  For the next couple, I carried a rock to throw if he/she reappeared; no additional sightings.  All the times I have run on this trail, it never occurred to me to worry about anything except snakes...

I was reading Burt's blog, and decided I need a new goal: to beat his 1992 mile PR.  I'm coming for you, Burt!  4 sub-75's in a row, how hard can it be?

Nice job. Your switchback plan inspired me to run a little bit harder route today. Not much harder, just a little bit. It's a fantastic plan for a downhill course, and probably something you can keep doing during the taper without wrecking your legs (hopefully). And great job avoiding the skunk. Did you scream? Jump high?

Hey Kam as for Saturdays run I guess I am solo as far as my friends go they are tapering and running the wildcat half cuz they are all running the TOU full so I am game to meet with you and your crew whenever you want. I need to do a 22-24 miles. I will just run with you and then add onto it at then end. Allie are you still wanting to join us on sat?

22-24? That's intense. Why so many? My wife is still working things out with her peeps, so when I know something, I'll let you know. I was planning on doing the last 18-20 miles of the course, with MP at the end.

it looks like i will also be doing the wildcat half (most likely). it seems like the best option to get a good effort in + a long run.
