My first fast running blog!  This seems like the cool thing to do these days, so I'm jumping on the band wagon :)

Started off the morning by visiting Nate, my chiropracter.  The past week my SI joint, lower back, and hips have been very tight.  It was getting to the point that my form was being altered.  Went in and got adjusted, massaged, and some stem treatment.  Felt so great!  On my run after my hips still felt a little tight and sore.  So I called it good after 4 miles. 

Tried speed skating tonight.  So fun!

5.5 Miles. Nice and easy. 

50 degrees today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The sunshine felt so good.  Had a great fun with my teammates Alyssa and Megan.  It was such a nice run.  It was conference weekend and USATF Indoor Championships.  So we had a lot to talk about.  My girls (the Utah Utes) rocked the conference.  It was so exciting!

Such a great run today!  We went up on the trails behind the UofU dorms and made a big loop out of them.  I.LOVE.TRAILS.  Haven't run trails forever.  I was having so much fun.  After the run we did core/strengthing drills and I iced and stemmed my hip.  

 7 ish miles. Not sure of the pace!

What a night last night.  I was planning on going to bed early so I could get up early run then go to the temple.  But I could not get myself to calm down.  I was wide awake.  Even after laying in my bed for 2 straight hours... no sleep at all. So I finally got up at around 3:30 and went and ran 3 miles on the treadmill (ave 7:21).  Took a shower.  Read scriptures... then decided to try and give sleeping another try.  It took me another hour of laying there, then finally around 5:30 I got to sleep.  I could have slept till at least 11, but no.  I woke up at 8:30 and couldn't get back to sleep.  Just my luck.  So I got up and ran 5 more miles outside.  It was really windy, but it actally felt really good to run.  

 Hopefully I can sleep tonight.  I've had a busy day today and am definitely feeling the affects of little sleep.

 I didn't sleep too well last night, and was not very excited to do my morning run.  I finally get myself out the door, and great, strong winds.. my favorite.  I tried to look on the postitive side and thought about how it was at least warmer than it has been.  I started trudging along, into the wind, going up hill.  Needless to say my first couple miles were very slow.  Once I got into a groove though I felt good!  Ended up dropping by about 5-10 seconds every mile and finished my last mile in 6:50.  Felt good!  Then this afternoon I was at my little brother's baseball practice.  Didn't really intend to run, but it was FREEZING and I was still in my running stuff, so I decided to trot around a little.  Felt way slow and was still really windy, but it warmed me up.  After the run I shagged some balls for my bro and even stepped up to the plate a couple times.  It's a good thing I run ;)

Jogged to the track (1.5 miles)

Felt pretty good!  My legs felt super heavy for the last 400's though. Definitely felt the 10 miles from yesterday :)

I forgot to start my watch for about 10 mins during my run!  So it kinda threw off the pace and what not.  8.5 miles in about 7:49 pace is my guessitmate :)

 

it was a BEAUTIFUL morning.  Body felt tired from the workout and my circut training class, but other than that, great run!

 Did TONS of wedding stuff too.  only 5 more weeks! FIVE MORE WEEKS! I'm kinda excited ;)

I woke up, and my body ached.  I was on my feet ALL day yesterday. all day.  I worked 2 jobs, did lots of wedding shopping, and the run.  It wore me out.  My plantar decided to come back too.  So my run today was shortish and SLOW( 6mi in 8min/mile).  Ended the run at a park that has a little stream through it.  The cold water and smooth rocks on the bottom felt great on my feet.  Icing and massage in one, perfect :)  Another great day too!  Definitely skanked it up and ran in my sports bra. So nice!

My legs and foot felt brand new today!  good ol' recovery runs! 
I went and got reacquainted with my old summer running town, Alpine, UT.  I was going to run to the Bowery...I must be getting old, I couldn't remember how to get there and got lost.  I wound up trotting through neighborhoods, had no idea where I was, then somehow ended up right where I wanted to be!  Gotta love that :) I also forgot how many hills there are! sheesh, the first 5 miles seemed to be all up hill, good thing about that though, I cruised on back! I was under 7 min/mile for the last 2 miles.  Felt so good!  Great Run!

Tonight I am determined to get some core/strength work in.  I have neglected that this week, and I know that it is crucial!

Off to my little sister's track meet, she's ready to PR in the mile.  Wish her luck! :)

As I walked out the door this morning, I turned on my garmin and it beeped low battery.  DANG.  I guess I didn't push it into the charger well enough so it didn't charge.  I left it at home and went on a course that usually takes me about 85-90 mins.  So i'm guessing I went anywhere from 11 to 12 miles!  It was a BEAUTIFUL morning.  gotta love the spring! :)

Tuesday Speed Day!

 WU: 1.5 miles

3 sets of 800,400,200,200 with equal rest.

the 800's were suppose to be at 5k pace, 400's at 3k pace, and 200's at mile pace.  I went 2:50 for the 800s, 80's for the 400's and 37's for the 200's.

 After the workout was over I had a ton left... definitely should have pushed it a little more.  I enjoyed myself way too much haha.  I still got in a work out though, and getting ready to race a 5k at the BYU meet this weekend!

 It was stormy all day today.  Luckily for my run it cleared up a little and was actually pretty enjoyable weather.  The last mile of my run consisted of increasing thunder and lighting. Then right once I walked in the door after stretching, BOOM.  Started pouring outside!  Nice timing eh?

BYU Robinson Invite 5k.

 

The weather was terrible all day.  It was suppose to be a two day meet, but because of the weather they moved all the events to Saturday.  Oh wait, except for the 5k.  Just my luck!  I am not a cold weather girl...at all.  I was not very excited.  Although I will give the weather props.  The rain and wind died down for the race.  It was just cold! 48 degrees I think.  

The race went OK.  The first place girl took the lead from the gun and started going way fast. I got stuck in no mans land the whole race.  I was about 100 meters behind the first and about 100 meters ahead of the field.... I was cold, and really, I didn't have the motivation to kill myself.  It just didin't feel like a race.  Makes me mad.  I ran 18:48@  Felt more like a tempo run than a race.  I guess it gives me a little confidence that I can potentially run a LOT faster.  It was a good workout none-the-less! :)

Most of the run I was going around 6:50 pace.  It ended up 7:19 over all because the first mile was a little under 8 min pace and then had a few killer up hills!

Felt so good though!

On a side note: Ending the night with a cookie, ice cream and pumpkin bread may sound good at the time, but it'll come back to get you! My tummy was not too happy with me haha.

I really need to sleep more.  I think I've been averaging 6 hours a sleep a night for the past few weeks.  It hit me today!  I went running with a girl on my team.  We took it nice and easy and chatted the whole way :)

 I FINALLY figured out what all this nonsense is about the push-ups and pull ups and what not were.  I decided to join the band wagon, and I brought my dad along with me!

 We just did the push-ups tonight, starting on week 3:

push ups= 14, 14, 18, 14, 41 (my dad only did 40. heh :) )

haha thanks! It definitely wouldn't have happened if I didn't have my dad right next to me. He finished his 40 in probably half the time. He told me he did 40... couldn't let the old man beat me! Definitely was shaking very badly, laid on the floor for a few mins after, and today, i'm sore haha.

Don't be scared for my pull-ups. At all. Pull-ups and I don't get along. I think my pull-up muscles never developed. and I'm serious.

 Had a dress fitting appointment at 10, then my best friend Lacey got married at 11! 

She looked so gorgeous and just glowed coming out of the temple.  We took lots of pictures and then headed down to the provo library for catered Cafe Rio. So good!  I have about an hour before I head to her reception, then after the reception I'm heading down to Cedar City to see my big ol' finance graduate! :)
