Plan:  6 x 800 meters at 6:10 pace (TM goes to 6:11 so I settled for that, no point going overboard).  Warmed up for 2.5 miles easy.  Ran all of them at 6:11 except last two I picked it up at the end especially the last one to a 6:00 pace for the last 100 yrds.  32 mph winds kept me from running on the track today.   My left hip/inside hamstring bugging me and I am sore in the arms from working them yesterday which I also compensated with the use of my left leg in place of my wimpy left arm.   Funny, I wasn't sore AT ALL from my 23 miler on Monday.  Then I do arms and I am sore in the upper body.  Totally had to use reverse psychology to get all six done.  First four I ran one lap (.25 miles in between) at 8:00 to 8:13 pace.  To help myself out on the last two I walked .07 miles then got back up to an 8:00 pace before finishing the lap.  I sure appreciated that.  Cooldown to make an even 10 miles for the day at 7:30 to 8:13 pace.  Avg pace for last 8.25 miles = 7:27.   Ready to eat tons now.  And take a hot shower.  Would like to ice in the river but the breeze is not welcoming.  Later.  Next week after the storm passes.

Great job Julie! I am going to go for 6x800 next week too. Your 400 meter recoveries sound good and the walking sounds really good. I think you are right about allowing a longer recovery so you are more in control of the speedwork and not falling apart like I was during mine!

April, I was supposed to do a 1:30 second break in between and I just could not mentally handle that and then Kim confirmed my answer by saying she always does at least a lap on her TM because her TM and mine show the light going around the track as a way of telling where you are in the run. Nice feature. Does your TM do that? BTW you did NOT fall apart in your workout. You ran very well : D
