7 mile progressive, not on purpose, hillwork run.  Ran up 1800 north from kids school after walking with Brooke and Amber, my girls, to school for walk to school day.  It was .9 miles at 19 min.  : D.  I carried Brooke's backpack because she complained.  It was rather heavy by the end.  Anyway by 9:15 am, having awakened at 5am I was losing motivation and was already fatigued.  I just said to myself to start running until I felt like it.  I ran up the huge hill and tried to just stick with a hard pace straight up.  First mile 8:43.  Last mile 6:43.  Cooldown mile 7:53.  AP=  7:42.  I ran on the canal and then it started pelting rain and immediately the hard clay soil turned to mud.  I looked like I was in the Dirtiest Darn Run.  Veered off the canal and had to add in more hills to go above it.  Dang.  But it was a good workout.  I am certainly out of shape mentally and physically.....COME ON IRON LEVELS< ABSORB!!!!!!!  Got some ideas of what to eat from Sasha.  Sure hope it helps.  I can't believe how fatigued I am feeling continously.  I may try to really slow it down at SGM and shoot for a fall marathon like Mesquite when I am restored.  Think, think think.  I just don't know.  Still thinking.  : D

Those are speedy hilly miles w/ no sleep and the low-iron-induced-fatigue. You are seriously the toughest runner I ever know! GOOD LUCK w/ deciding which marathon to RACE! I just know you will do the right thing for you!

didn't you run Mesquite last year? I helped Josse run a 20 miler before it. I haven't looked it up. Its in November I think. Thanks for your kind words Smooth.

No, I ran the Hoover Dam last year.

Yes, Mesquite is on Nov 20 same day as Valley of Fire. I want to run VOF this year but hubby has a meeting that morning. I'm trying to talk him into letting me hitch a ride w/ a friend from Price.

which one is easier? prettier? if I do VOF I would take you with me : D

From Smooth on Wed, Sep 22, 2010 at 19:23:29 from 67.41.235.104

VOF is prettier but a tough course with lots of hills and no shade. I'm doing it for the scenery and support the RD who's a friend!

If you do VOF, you will win the whole thing! Thanks for the offer to take me!

Nice run Julie! I have a feeling at St. George you will not be able to stop yourself and will take off. Can't wait for the report!

April-- nothing that a little vitamin D, B12 and iron won't cure!! I am starting to recover....just hope its just on time!!! In time for at least under a 3:15. That is my silver standard. Bronze is 3:20 and gold is a 3:10. Today's run got me hoping.

From seeaprilrun on Thu, Sep 23, 2010 at 15:09:32 from 68.103.248.145

That's exactly where I'm at with this next marathon! I am feeling pretty so-so about my fitness. 3:10 would rock but I'm trying to be realistic! So...you go 3:10(or under) and then I will take that as my sign to follow suit! :)
