I met the BBKs at Daybreak to run the SJ half mararthon course. The plan was 2 miles warm up, 5 miles MP tempo, 1 recovery mile, 5 MP tempo miles and 1 mile cool down. I felt really good. My miles are way lower than they should be this week. I will probably really regret that during the marathon. My splits today were (9:14, 9:12) (7:43, 7:43, 9:22 (we had to run in the pitch black on a dirt path that was very rocky. we walked a lot so we wouldn't roll our ankles.) 7:45, and 8:04) (8:57 recovery) I accidentally stopped my watch from miles 8-9.3 so the next tempo miles arent very accurate, but the ones I have were 7:22, 7:16, 8:11 and a cool down mile of 9:13. Average pace for the 12.7 I have record of was 8:21. Then I joined some of the others for breakfast at Village Inn. I went straight to my sons football game. We lost, but my son did get the only touchdown for his team. That was so fun to see. |
