Personal:

I am married with 3 lovely children 28, 20, 14 and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

Got up and met Luz for a run with the dogs.  Perfect morning to run, felt decent.  Afterward we got in the FREEZING COLD river.  It hurt so bad but made my achey legs feel great.  Fun!!

8:40 avg. pace.

Later did 16 mins on the elliptical.

So I have this nagging want to run the Utah Valley marathon, I tell myself everyday no your body is not ready.  And then I tell myself you can just run it for fun, you know how I did it last year.  I have that sickness marathonitis.  Really it is real, so I thought I would try for a 20 miler and see how my body handles that and then decide.  I know I am crazy.  I go through this daily in my head.

ha ha ha I have those same daily thoughts! "If I could just do 20 miles on Saturday I could run it just for fun." :) Oh and I'm glad you told me about the des news marathon, looks much better than the PC one!

You want to try for a 20 miler this sat:)?

I put up my comment on MacK's blog before reading. See I know how the cogs are turning in your mind. I have such fond memories of jumping in the river after workouts - I bet it was actually cold enough this time of year.

If you can handle the 20 alright, then you should go for it.

(On paper the Des News looks a lot easier than PC, but i've found it not true for myself...)

Lets do it! :) We have a camp out this weekend, but I'll see if we can leave Sat morning after the run.

Michelle, you were the first person I had ever seen jump in the freezing river after a run. Oh the things I learned from you! :)

Cal, so would you say for a first time marathon for my husband would Des News or PC be better for him?

From josse on Thu, May 21, 2009 at 12:19:59 from 75.216.243.247

Michelle- I was thinking of you while I was in the river.

Merri- I would just have him do TOU marathon, he would be in the taper anyways with school.

From Cal on Thu, May 21, 2009 at 12:23:52 from 66.133.117.3

Josse makes a good point about TOU. That might be perfect timing.

(if i had to pick between the other 2, i'd go with Park City. he'd probably feel less beat up 2 days after the race, IMO.)

It stinks b/c he's doing the executive MBA extension from USU and it's every Friday night (6-10) and every Sat morning (8-12) :( ugh!!! I found out his fall break is October 2-3, I should have had him try for St George...too late now.

Oh that explains it.
