Ran middle distance in college with a PB of 1:52 for the 800 meters, then continued running with varying degrees of seriousness throughout my 20's and 30's. Moved up in distance and even ran three marathons (2:43 PB). Now just trying to stay in shape and find balance in life in my 40's.

Neighborhoods + Borah track - 30:28
Ran at 9 p.m. By then it had stopped snowing, which was nice. Did 12 minutes jog down to the track, 10 minutes of speed drills, plyos and accelerations, and 8 minutes home. Need to do more of this stuff because it's very helpful.

Greenbelt - 43:01
Nice late afternoon out on the greenbelt. Ran with Emily and pushed Nica for 28 minutes, then finished with 14 minutes steady on my own over to Papa Joe's. Proceeded to have a great dinner. |

Ellyptical + treadmill - 56:34
I did a 15 minute (2 mile) warmup on the ellyptical to move around some different muscles, then a 5.5 mile progression run on the 'mill. Miles of 7:35, 7:08, 6:31, 6:22, 6:11 and 3:00 (half mile) followed by a half mile cooldown. Not too taxing, but a decent strength workout. |

Didn't run yesterday, and it was almost 9 p.m. before I got out tonight. I was feeling sorry for myself and had talked myself out of running, but decided just to go for an easy jog for 30 minutes. Once I got going, I felt a little better, though I kept it really slow. |

1 mile wo; 2 x 400, 4 miles steady, 2 x 400; 1 mile wd
Was going to run long this afternoon, but only had about an hour, so I did something a little shorter but more quality. Ran down to the Borah track and did the workout.
400s: 1:21, 1:21; 4 miles marathon pace - 25:29 (6:22/mile); 400s: 1:20, 1:18. Took 400m jogs between the 400s and after the 4 mile run. Pretty good workout for me right now. |
