I slept in today.  I have been extremely sleep deprived the last few weeks and after yesterday morning, I know it is affecting my running.  I might try to get a few easy miles in later in the day, but no pressure because my body needs some rest.

Happy Running!

Heya Jody :). I hear you on the sleep deprived thing. Between that and switching to just 1-2 cups of 100% decaf coffee a day now I am feeling blah!. I had a question for you. I'm going to Canada with Emma for a week from tomorrow until Next Thurs. I got in two rides this week, but I don't think I'll get one in today or tomorrow since I have work 11-7 today and am leaving in the morning Thurs. Do you think I will lose a lot of my fitness level in a week? I know that when you were in India you still got some runs in right? I'm not sure what to do. I think we can rent bikes and if that's the case then I can probably get a nice relaxing 15 miler in or something. Do I need to maybe scale back my food intake and (gasp) operate on "Diet Mode" for the week up there?

OH!!! You got to sleep in! I am so jealous. I am going to have to do that tomorrow---really!

Good job listening to your body. The problem for me is that I can't "sleep in" past 7 it seems! Is that really sleeping in?

Benn, I did not run while I was in India because the fitness ctr the hotel said they had did not exist. I was coming back from being hurt so I did not have much fitness, but I did lose a little. I would recommend renting a bike or even just walking but doing something to maintain your fitness. I gained weight on this las trip because they have more food choices now. On my previous trips I had always lost, but had run a little as well. Sorry such depressing news. Have a great time in Canada though, it sounds like a lot of fun.

Mik'l - my sleeping in was 6:00 am - Husband: "What time is it and why aren't you out running?"

6:20 am Husband: "What time is it"

6:40 am Husband: "What time is it"

7:00 am Husband: "What time is it, oH - I should get up"

I laid there while he got ready and then got up at 7:30.

But 2 hrs later than normal to get out of bed was okay with me!
