AM - CROWBAR Ski Race (3:43, ~10 miles, 6100')

PM - 4 miles along Bear Lake.

I'll write a full recap of the race on Wasatch and Beyond in a couple days. I had a really good time as a participant in the event, but as a competitor I didn't do nearly as well as I thought I would, even considering I'm a total rookie at this. For reference, I finished a full hour behind the top female racer!

It was fun, and even if nothing else, a really good workout on a beautiful day in the Bear River Mountains.

Andrea did well. My new adjusted goal for SkiMo is to be able to keep up with her!

Nice work, I can see the increase in RBCs from here!

Now you know what I feel like in running, getting continually crushed by the opposite sex.

Definitely a perspective change compared to running. Even in big races like Boston/Chicago when I'm not truly competing for a top place, I still feel like I'm IN THE RACE... in this one I never really felt like I was in it (if that makes sense). Especially after Andrea blew past me on the first long downhill :-)

But that being said, I still like being out there and I know with some time I'll get somewhat more competitive. For now I can't get over the mental block of "you have London in 3 months" and that especially prevents me from taking chances on the downhills (probably a good thing).

... I added a little more about CROWBAR on Wasatch and Beyond.
