I got offered a spot on Powerbar's Team Elite. It doesn't seem like it will create any conflict of interest w/ Saucony, so I'll likely accept. Which also means I need to accept the fact that I need to not just give up candy for lent, but probably forever, as we'll have quite a stockpile of nutritional products!

I feel the same way about candy that I do soda. You get away from it long enough, and you kind of forget about it (also the old rule if it isn't there you won't want it applies I think).

Now, if I had boxes of Powerbars in my pantry I would eat all of those. Example: Last night, woke up after trying to fall asleep. BAM! 2 Lara bars. Went to sleep, woke up in the middle of the night BAM! another Lara bar. I wasn't fully awake for the third one, so the calories don't count.

Oh, and congrats, too!

They key is to hide things in your kitchen and not remember where you put them :-)

Congrats on the sponsorship. You'll be disappointed to hear that I dropped Diet Mountain Dew from the diet. I love the stuff but I am trying to eat and drink things with ingredients I can pronounce and Diet Mountain Dew was falling a little short there.

Congrats and welcome to PowerBar Team Elite! I was with both PowerBar and Saucony for about 2 years with no issues.

I need to remember to capitalize the B!

Yeah it should a good thing. No excuses to miss the 20 minutes post-workout window for a protein bar anymore :-)

Derek - I ran my 1/2 PR at Long Beach when I was off the dew. Maybe I need to try that again!

Congrats Jake! I can't help but weigh in on the Dew…

Definitely worth ditching and you probably will start craving it less. I always go with Derek's advice- if you can't pronounce most the ingredients OR the list of ingredients is as long as short novel, it probably shouldn't be fueling the race car :)

Congrats, Jake. Well deserved.
