Going to stick with short, easy runs for a couple weeks and continue to work on getting the hamstring issue under control. Originally I was planning on running CIM after Chicago, but I'll just have to see how things go and not have any grand expectations. Needless to say I'm not booking flights yet. There isn't really enough time to get in much better shape, but if I can do enough to maintain the level of fitness I took into Chicago (and not be hurt) then it will be worth taking another crack at the marathon this fall. Houston would be a better option in terms of giving me more time, but the six weeks leading up to it are the worst time of the year for training here.

Training for Houston in SLC will be hard unless you've got this.

What an interesting variety of shorts styles!

We are transitioning to a warm weather climate. December and January should be perfect for training.

I sure hope not... I bought new skis and bindings for this winter! Ideally we'll get a huge snowpack that starts setting up in about 6 weeks.

CIM seems like a solid plan as long as you are feeling healthy and the hammy is holding up.

Go for CIM so you can then focus on Dynafit season! How about trying some of the SkiMo races?!?

I'd be down for doing the midweek events up at Brighton if you and Andrea wanted to. I don't have much interest in really "racing" Skimo, but it would be a fun workout once in a while. I'm after powder... :-)

CIM is the goal as long as I get the hamstring fully operational in time to get in a short block of decent workouts. I probably won't know if it's likely for another couple weeks. Making good progress over the last 5 days. Long term health is important b/c my spring marathon of choice will not be booked on a cheap, refundable Southwest flight... unless SW starts offering $99 fares to Europe :-)

Double smiley face!
