AM - 10 miles. First 4 w/ Andrea. Nice morning with a little bit of snow on the ground... and warmer temps!

PM - 4 miles.

Cherry Blossom announced that they are hosting the USA 10 Mile Championship in April. This is a race I've wanted to run for a while, especially since I have a lot of friends in the area and owe them a visit. Now that it's the USA Championship it makes sense to finally swing the trip to DC. This actually fits perfectly into what I'm trying to accomplish in terms of training / racing this spring. I like this option better than the 15K Champs (Gate River) due to timing and travel logistics.

That is awesome news Jake. I have always thought it would be fun to race 10 miles.

I am really interested to see what the qualifying times to enter will be! Think I could run 10 miles by then?! Otherwise I'll pace Luke :)

Its probably harder to get into the regular race than the US Champs. They hold a lottery for Cherry Blossom, which is sort of rare for a non-marathon... very big and popular event.

Guessing they'll post the qualifying standards at some point this week or next.

Will you let me know when they post the standards - I'd love race that distance if I qualified and I don't have anything planned in April. Seems like the perfect excuse to finally see DC.

They actually have a seeded section if you scroll down from the elite entry standards a little. I didn't see this when I looked last night...

Thanks Jake.

15K/10mile races are great. Its like running an overly-aggressive half-marathon without the pain of the last 3 miles :-)
